NYC was the first stop on Cat & Tom’s round-the-world trip, so Rob and I drove down to the city for the night to show them around (though admittedly I had done some research on the Internet in advance to make sure that I still knew where some cool bars were!). We met them at Schiller’s for dinner first (the site of Hannah and Rob’s infamous, boozy first meeting) but forgot to take any photos. Had a brief celebrity sighting: Jim from the American “Office”. Then we moved onto Motor City, a biker bar that no longer has any bikers in it on the Lower East Side. The bar was playing very cool music which led Rob and Tom into a very serious discussion about very cool music:

For some reason I ordered a non-alcoholic beer even though I don’t even like alcoholic beer…

Tom working on his biker bar face…

Cat and I working on our “speak to our men over there if you’ve got a problem with us” faces…

I think this was round three, though I was still struggling through my first non-alcoholic beer. Normally I’d ask the bartender to top it up with lemonade, but it was a biker bar after all…

Next we took them to Max Fish…

…where Cat made us capture all our extra chins. Shortly after this photo was taken, Tom dropped his wedding ring on the floor and then forgot that he should start looking for it, so we decided it was about time to call it a night!

But not without a quick stop for a photo op in front of One & One so we could show TomCat where Hannah used to live. We’re all looking in different directions because Rob and Tom were taking photos at the same time… Wish you were here, Han!
