Anyone who knows our Bex knows that telling stories succinctly is not her strongest suit (but going around the block three times with her is always so entertaining!); anyway, we’ll do our best here.
The story goes like this: Becky had bought 150 sparklers for the end of the night, more than enough for everyone to have one. When it came to the sparkler tunnel, only half the guests had sparklers. Becky asked at the time, but no-one seemed to know what happened. A few weeks after the wedding, one of their friends said he saw someone light a sparkler and by mistake lit the whole bunch of sparklers at one time and they sparkled like a big bouquet of fireworks in his hand! This friend didn’t know who it was and no-one has owned up to it. However, new evidence has emerged, and so the case has been reopened!
Another friend just shared their Martinelli wedding photos, and one of them shows a mystery guest merrily waving a big bunch of sparklers. He can only be identified by his arm. We do know, however, that he is a man, he is married, and he is wearing a watch. Do you know this man? Do you recognise him? We may need to speak to him regarding the incident. He may be totally innocent — he may simply have been given the bunch of sparklers — or he may be the man we are looking for!

There is also another photo of someone — we think it’s Will the owner — giving sparklers to Christian. Is this where it started? (Emma says no, as she was opposite Christian in the tunnel and declares that while he was very merry, he was not waving more than his one allotted sparkler.) The mystery remains unsolved!

However the final photo of the happily married couple emerging from the tunnel shows that it didn’t spoil things one bit!

Oh, and while we’re on the subject of the Martinelli wedding… do I hear you asking for one more photo? Yes, I do! So here it is: a lovely shot of the first dance, with Emma cheering away and Nan-nan having a little cry, and being comforted by Sylvia. Bless.
