Swine flu explained - Dr John Wood on the BBC

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

We have  a new media star on QO!  Dr John Wood one of the World’s foremost Virology experts (or Uncle John to most of us!!) has been on TV and Radio over the past 24 hours as a global flu expert explaining the latest Swine Flu outbreak.   Last night John was on BBC TV on “Newsnight” on BBC2. The feature on Swine flu with John, comes on after 18minutes and 45 seconds. Then this morning he was on BBC Radio4 “The Today programme”   The item on swine flu starts 1hr 49 mins 15 secs after the start of the programme. Make sure you also listen to the interview with Professor John Oxford after John’s interview. John Oxford mentions John a lot! We all thought Doctor John was pretty darn good!! Click on the links above and you should be routed to the items on the BBC iPlayer which I think retains the programmes for up to 7 days - If you weren’t watching or listening, check ‘em out!! I am not sure anyone can access iPlayer outside of UK - but hope it’s  possible!!

Don’t Mess with Lenny

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Just in case anyone should try and swipe Lenny while Evie naps, she keeps him in a firm chokehold. (It was 90 degrees today, hence Evie’s Stanley Kowalski naptime look and sweaty curls.)

Parents of the Year Award

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

It started off a promising enough Sunday, hanging out with Evie Bean in the garden…

Picking dandelions (don’t tell her it’s actually “weeding”)…

And then a big cuddle with Daddy when he got home (the camo hat is another post for another day)…

But then when Rob and I realized we only had a few hours left in the day to get the house ready for a viewing and prepare a Mexican dinner party for 8 adults and 4 kids, it all went pear-shaped. We were cooking in the kitchen and thought Evie was happily entertaining herself in the Tupperware cupboard… until we turned around and noticed that she’d raided the cereal cupboard. Check out this guilty look…

Apparently sick of being ignored by her parents, she’d decided to help herself to a few dry Weetabix.

Moi?

Realizing it was way past her lunchtime, we put Evie into her high chair to give her a proper bite to eat while we finished cooking. And the next thing we know, we turn around and…

Apparently our resourceful little Beanie had decided that today she needed to take care of feeding herself and putting herself down for a nap. Still, she looks pretty peaceful for an abandoned baby!

It was only a matter of time…

before all the pretty outfits came out…

Long term QO followers will remember Chloe modelling this orange number back in July ‘07!

And lets not forget the Simon Cowell jeans modelled previously by both Chloe and Evie…

All this posing is exhausting!

That’s much better - back in my PJ’s!

Butterflies

Friday, April 24th, 2009

As Chloe adores butterflies, I bought her and Megan pretty butterfly party dresses.  It will be months until Megan fits into hers, and with no party invites coming our way, Chloe and I decided that a Thursday is a good enough day as any to get dressed up for a party of three (Mummy, Megan and Chloe).

Mellow Yellow

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Evie is a vision in yellow — thanks to a gorgeous jumper knitted by her (Great) Nan-nan.

Pretty as a picture even when Niagra Falls is dribbling down her chin…

And of course, everywhere that Evie goes, Lenny is sure to come along…even if scaling her high chair would be much easier without him.

A big hug for Lenny…

I have no idea what she’s saying, but Lenny seems enthralled…

What a poppet.

Big Cook, Little Cook

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Even the best of cooks need some help in the kitchen.  Here, Evie and Chloe help Muz prepare tea.

Such a good big sister

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Finally, life is starting to return to normal in the Bunt household as Chloe accepts that Megan is here to stay, and realises that she is actually quite fun to have around.  Bath time is now so much more fun when there is someone else to play with.

Clearly there is no issue with milk supply in Megan’s world!

Chloe never one to shy away from a QO opportunity

But the best smiles are always saved for Daddy

After bathtime, Chloe helps Mummy get Megan into her PJ’s, and is always there to hold her hand if she gets upset.

And finally, what better way to end the day than to get in bed together for night time cuddles and stories.

When Evie came for tea

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Evie and Chloe get stuck into fish fingers beans and mash potato for tea.

aa170409-003.jpg

All was going well until the parental paparazzi got carried away and narrowly escaped a disaster in the form of Evie falling off the chair - note Emma’s speedy reaction as her hands appear in shot to catch a falling Evie.  Note also, Chloe is far too interested in her fish fingers to even notice to near catastrophic disaster.

aa170409-005.jpg

And I can’t resist this last picture that proves that just sometimes, and only sometimes, photo’s on QO may be just a little bit staged!  This is the first shot taken of the girls eating tea.  It was only following a quick look at the pics after to check we had a good one, when I noticed what a shocker of a hair day our Chloe was having - and promptly called in the stylist to rectify the situation.  Chloe begged the paparazzi not to publish this shot, but sometimes you just can’t stop the paps ….
