Saturday December 19th - what a memorable day at Tim & Emily’s wedding ..  An elegant group in the Taxi on the way to Wellington Barracks. The new Mr & Mrs Badham lead the wedding party out of the Church followed by some very attractive bridesmaids… and check out the elegant MOB following on behind and the FOB looks very pleased with himself!!The guard of honour Emily & her beautiful bridesmaids and flower girlThe Woodies so its 5 of the Waylors now married … no pressure James Dr John starts the speeches in great style … and Tim captivates everyone in his own inimitable style then the dancing gets going …… and the wine kept flowing … aah how sweet! still plenty to talk about! and Emily & Tim strut their stuff …. …. at the end of a fabulous day!

On Tuesday morning Hannah hosted a Christmas party with a very special visitor… too bad Granddad missed Father Christmas’s fly-by! But first everyone tucked into some party food and spent some quality time in the Ninkynonk…Then Evie took Chloe’s police bike for a test-ride…While Alex had a good cuddle with Suzanne…And Meggy has a cuddle with her Uncle Mark, who was very brave in the face of a 3-hour kids’ party…Actually, I think Meggy had a cuddle with pretty much everyone…And before too long, Father Christmas showed up! Only three kids cried, which we thought was pretty good odds.We made Meggy sit on Santa’s lap first, as we knew that she’d handle it like a champ:Evie, on the other hand, was a little more cautious:And Chloe just went very red:Bye Santa!Thanks for a great party, Han!

A bit out of order here, but just sneaking in a quick pic of Emma meeting Alex for the first time, thanks to a surprise visit to Gerrard’s Cross on the way home from Heathrow. (Fortunately I have the worst sense of direction in the world, so I am very easy to fool.)

If it’s 4pm, it’s dance party time at Quince Orchard…

Muz talks Bex into a glam makeover to stunning results! And Alex isn’t half bad either…

Or, rather, a day in the Life of Quince Orchard when all four grandchildren are in town. First, bacon baps all around…Then Uncle Rob entertains Alex on the uke…While Emma gives Evie & Chloe a ride around the house in the laundry basket…Then Muz sneaks in an Alex cuddle….As well as a dance with Evie (note Strictly on in the background as inspiration…):Then the girls gather around for a viewing of “C is for Cookie”…And Evie sneaks in a story with her Granddad.Later, a walk to the local park in matching rain outfits for some puddle splashing…And chase, of course!And before too long — it must be five o’ clock somewhere!

Despite a bumpy start to the day — let’s just leave it at that — we had a lovely afternoon at Farmer Gow’s, picking out Christmas trees, feeding the goats and sheep, and gathering eggs at the hen house. Here’s Chloe oh-so-gently picking up eggs, improving vastly on her record from last time: no eggs broken!Yay!We thought it best not to trust Evie to actually carry any eggs on this visit (especially if she inherited her mother’s whoopsie gene) but she did lean in to feel how warm they were (as we’d had to dislodge a hen who had been sitting on them):And where was Meggy Moo during all this, you ask? Just being her usual chilled out self, grinning at anyone who looked her way. Here she looks up adoringly at her Mummy:Then back to the farm’s cafe where they immediately turned those eggs into scrambled eggs on toast for the girls and egg mayo sandwiches for the grownups. Evie and Chloe have a bit of a natter over lunch:(Muz, Becky and Alex joined us for the lunch part, though I somehow don’t seem to have any photos of them.) Then back to Quince Orchard for some wind-down time, while Muz drove Bex and Alex back to London. Chloe and Evie learn how to “share” thanks to Muz’s fab cube:And then Meggy gets in on the cube action and decides it’s as good a time as any to learn how to stand up…Chloe and Granddad share a giggle (I believe this was after Chloe hit her Granddad in a very unfunny place, which caused the rest of us to laugh, leading to Chloe’s giggle fit):Meanwhile Evie gets stuck into the Telegraph (clearly a broadsheet girl!):And then Evie introduced Chloe to one of her favorites, Elmo (singing a duet with Andrea Bocelli).Good day! Granddad gets a touch of the Nan-nan’s and gives Alexander a comb-over with the help of a bit of lick and spit…
