Evie requested a photo shoot today and then proceeded to demonstrate her model poses, insisting on looking at the camera after each one to see how she looked. (LA is already going to her head, apparently.) I guess our photo stylist forgot to tell Evie about the big drool patch on her dress, though…
Evie and I have taken to having pre-bath-time dance parties each evening while we wait for Rob to come home (the latter being a new concept for both of us!). This involves a dance balloon, a dance hat, the z-100 hit station, and lots of L.A. attitude:
When Evie gets particularly into a song, she hits the ground for some floor drumming…

Alexander The Great has started on food. I think he managed one day on boring baby rice before moving onto more hardcore foods - I believe he’s ordered steak and chips for the weekend.

Nana Bunt bought Chloe and Megan two cress eggs to have a race to see who could grow the most cress hair. Lorna was the lucky one who was given the task of setting them up - Chloe eagerly helped Lorna, and decided that hers was the stripey one and Megan’s was the one with the red base:
As the week past Chloe excitedly ran down each morning to see if they had grown … this morning she announced they were finished and graciously accepted that Meggy Moo was the winner! Here is Chloe proudly displaying the finishing products!

… have a ball! Maureen (a.k.a. Nana, even though Evie insists on calling her “Nan-nan”!) has a lemon tree in her back garden, and more lemons than she knows what to do with… and not a ball in sight. So Evie decided to make do. Here Evie spies the tree and goes incognito in case anyone sees her swiping lemons…

None of these quite warranted their own entry, but just a few quick snapshots of the Bean. Here she feeds Baby some lunch with her new wooden food set from Nana:
Here she is enjoying the kids’ play room at the Volvo dealership where our car was getting fixed. When I asked what she was doing, she said, “Evie’s working.”
Eventually she got bored of work, and then asked to talk to Muz, Granddad, Nana, Papa, Becky… she couldn’t understand why HER laptop didn’t have video chat. She was gipped!
Here Evie looks remarkably cheerful (not to say stylish) to say we’d got her out of bed at 4am to get to JFK on time.
Lenny gets buckled in for the 100th time while we wait for our plane…

And then, 6.5 hours later, Evie finally decides it’s time for a little nap… note that as she sleeps, she may have let go of Lenny and Elmo, but she maintains a firm grip on her little pot of goldfish snacks at all times!

Evie was SO excited to open her Peppa Pig birthday package from the Bunts — she already thought she was the luckiest girl in the world getting TWO Peppa Pig birthday cards (with matching badges!) — this just pushed her over the edge. (And you should have seen her later when she opened the PP swimming costume from Muz & Granddad.) As you can see, Rob was equally excited by the Peppa Pig bonanza…
Evie decided to move each Peppa Pig present to her little table so she could appreciate them properly…
