Rob’s new 9-5
March 9th, 2010 by emma
Apologies in advance for the lack of baby or toddler photos in this series — we haven’t had Bring Your Daughter to Work Day yet! Here is Rob at work — in a suit!! — at his new office, with his company’sĀ first employee Dennis (an old friend — and Baci-sitter — from Red Hook):
They’re a bit worried that they might get booted from this room at any moment, as they seem to have accidentally been given the best office in the building, but in the meantime, they’re enjoying the view:
If you look closely in the photo below (a view from Rob’s desk), you can see the white Hollywood sign in the hills at the back right!

wow, lovely office/views etc, but Rob in a suit working 9 to 5 is the most difficult thing to comprehend, not that I’m saying you have never worked before, just regular ‘normal’ hours… well you know what I mean, see you next month, xxx

Agree - wow! Love the office -Rhinecliffe’s going to seem very much “up-country” when you get back … and talking of country remember what that great American philosopher Dolly Parton said …
“Workin 9 to 5
What a way to make a livin
Barely gettin by
Its all takin
And no givin ”
hope it’s not like that for you!!

Muz–you’ve only known me since I left the corporate world! I’ve spent far more time in M-F office jobs than not, though this is the first where I’ve (voluntarily) worn a suit every day. No tie, though… that would be pushing it! x
And Bex, maybe we can do a walk/hike up to the Hollywood sign, if you like. Can’t wait to show you around town! x

Looks great….do you walk to work? Take a packed lunchbox? All looks very impressive. Good luck with it all.
Is there supposed to be a link to WhoSay?

Annie, I sent Rob to work with an embarrassingly large cool bag yesterday with leftovers in it (it has two drink holders!). He said people were staring and one guy even made fun of it in the elevator — I think that might be the last time he takes a packed lunch to the office…

oh poor Rob, the embarrassment! James has never in his life taken a packed lunch - it’s not cool. I used to religiously make my sandwiches every night. But bless you for being a good wife Emma.
And Rob - yes I’d love to walk up to the Hollywood sign - I can’t wait to be a geeky tourist!

rob, I was trying to think of a reply to clarify what I was trying to say, but words like hole and dig come to mind!
and I am looking forward to be a geeky tourist too! xxx

Hi Rob - just in case you hadn’t realised, the last comment was from Dianne not me!! (but I am also looking forward to being a geeky tourist!!)
